Discipleship School

The Discipleship School runs on the Friday night & Saturday morning on the same weekend as the Youth Rally. It is for Christian teenagers who are keen to learn how to become a BCM Bible Club & Camp leader and who really want to go on in their Christian walk. The initial training involves training in doing sword drills, memory verses, quizzes, teaching a chorus, object lessons, flannelgraph, serial stories, taking games and quiet times. The second stage of training is more involved with developing the young people as Christians, both in their knowledge and their Christian lives. Much of this is spent discussing issues and studying Gods word and looking at basic theology.

There are various standards expected of the young people in discipleship, which are designed not to control them, but rather to encourage them to go on in their Christian lives. We understand however that on many, many issues the kids must come to their own personal convictions on what is good & proper behaviour for a Christian. Our standards are there to encourage biblical principles in Christian living. A large part of both the first and second stages of discipleship school is spent discussing various issues of Christian living and what the bible has to say on those issues.

The Discipleship School is not all about studying and discussing the bible, we also have special events to reward the young people for their hard work and commitment. Such as trips to the Alton Towers theme park in England or Blackpool.
