The Beautiful Mediterranean Island of Malta, lies close to Sicily, Italy, and the coast of Tripoli. The climate is very moderate, and there is so much to see and do. The Island also boasts a marvelous historical past. From the time of the Phoenicians, the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, and latterly the Knights of St.John, who came to the Island when they were expelled from Rhodes.
Malta has two sister Islands. Gozo, and Comino. The first is the more pastoral, more so than Malta, which is more rugged. Comino is the smallest of the Maltese Argipeligo, and only has one hotel, a few homes a police station, and a fort. Water sports are very popular, from scuba diving, swimming, water polo, and wind surfing. You can also hire jeeps to tour the Island, and discover for yourself, the many wonderful treasures which Malta has to offer or you can take advantage of the excellent conducted tours and learn even more about the beauty, history and culture  of this wonderful and friendly Island.

The climate is healthy and moderate, the very hot periods are between June and August. During the other months it is less hot. Rainfall is usually quite moderate, and although sometimes heavy, it does not continue for long. The Island has quite a rugged coast line, broken in the north by beautiful sandy beaches at Ghajn Tuffieha, Golden Sands and Mellieha Bay. It is interesting to note that there are no rivers on Malta. There are farms, but these are nothing like we have, either in type of buildings or field layout. Each holding is surrounded by dry stone walls, and the fields are irrigated by underground wells,

Most of the goods are imported, as Malta is only able to export limited goods, like wine, potatoes, citrus fruits, filigree and glass ware. The food is also very good, and varied, and one can get anything from the local produce, which includes various fish dishes, meats and olives, to European dishes, there is something to suit all tastes. It is well worth sampling what is on offer at the various outdoor cafe's and just watch the world go by.

Ta' Pinu Santuary, Gozo

Known as a church of miracles. It is said that many people have been cured of various serious illnesses when they have visited this place. There is a large cabinet inside with crutches plasters bandages, and also letters from many of the people who have benefited from healing. At one time only a humble village chapel stood on this site. But after a poor country girl working in the fields heard the voice of the Virgin Mary, who said to her" Go into the church and pray for my ascension into heaven" Miracles started to happen, and so from these happenings grew the beautiful building you see today.
